“Hotel Solstice”, Shadowpath Theatre Productions first annual charity fundraiser was a tremendous success! Charitable receipts were given and money was raised for Shadowpath and Markham Youth Theatre. Not only did they fill the room, but they used every space on the first floor of Aloft Hotel Vaughan, who donated its space, to its advantage. The evening started with the Deputy Mayor of Vaughan – Gino Rosati giving a brief speech and presenting a plaque to Alex Karolyi of Shadowpath; then a ribbon cutting along with Rosati, Alex Karolyi and Councillor Sandra Yeung Racco.
The evening was about a multi-artistic experience to delight the senses. They had plays in hotel rooms; dance performances in the board room; live music outside on the patio and even a shower suite. In the writing-room patrons could write their own ideas for the next play and win a chance to have their play written. There were painters creating live art, makeup artists, fortune teller, audio theatre and live dance. There was great food and drinks, all at the Hotel Solstice. Director Alex Karolyi created an evening that people talked about in a positive light, and what a happy atmosphere! This was a volunteer event and there were a lot of raffle gifts donated by local businesses one included a sweetheart flight across the city on Valentine’s Day! A Painting made in someone’s own home! Social media services; coaching; sculptures; gift certificates, McMichael Art Gallery donated as did the Richmond Hill Philharmonic Orchestra and so much more. This event was very well thought out and a very large success. Shadowpath Theatre Productions will be having its next event Readings in wineries at Holland Marsh Winery on August 28th!
